Proposal Types

What is a technical proposal?

How the work will be done, rather than what it costs.

What it covers

A technical proposal focuses on how the work will be done rather than on pricing. It typically includes:

  • Business requirements understanding
  • Proposed solution architecture or approach
  • Methodology, tools and technology stack
  • Timeline and delivery milestones
  • Risks and assumptions
  • Maintenance and support
Use it when

The client — or their technical evaluators — need to be convinced on capability and approach before cost is even discussed. Common in RFP responses, enterprise IT deals and consulting pitches.
